Ty Rosemellia
Environmental Educator
As a South Florida native, Ty grew up surrounded by the state’s diverse ecosystems. Her deep love for the ocean first sparked her appreciation for the natural world and shaped her understanding of how intricately connected we all are to the environment around us.
Ty has 10+ years as a horticulture professional, with hands-on experience in regenerative farming, greenhouse management, and community-based teaching. Ty’s background includes a BS in psychology from Florida Institute of Technology, social media outreach, and environmental advocacy.
The experiences she values most are those that invite people into direct, hands-on connection with nature through immersive outdoor exploration, interactive workshops, and field-based learning. Ty enjoys helping others recognize local biodiversity and understand how our everyday choices influence the balance and resilience of interconnected ecosystems.
In her work as an environmental educator, Ty’s goal is to foster lasting awareness and a sense of shared responsibility for the health of our planet. She believes meaningful change begins with understanding, and that when people feel connected to nature, they are more inclined to safeguard it through conservation, stewardship, and sustainable living practices. Ty is passionate about creating a positive impact in people’s lives and making science accessible and engaging for diverse audiences. Her mission with YEA is to empower communities to cultivate self-sustainability, curiosity, care and ultimately protection for our wild spaces for future generations.
