Growing Connections Through Gardens
Since 2005, Youth Environmental Alliance (YEA) has been inspiring students and families through hands-on gardening experiences that connect them to nature in meaningful ways. For many children, it's their first time planting seeds, digging in the dirt, or watching pollinators like bees and butterflies up close. These moments spark curiosity, build environmental awareness, and plant the seeds for healthier, more sustainable communities.

Cultivating Knowledge Through Sustainable Agriculture
Over the past 20 years, YEA has introduced students to a variety of innovative and sustainable farming methods, including organic farming, hydroponics, aquaponics, and aquaculture. Through a place-based learning model that moves from awareness to education to action, we help schools create vibrant learning gardens, food forests, and community garden spaces.

"We are all connected, so we are all affected”
That’s why our programs empower young people to become environmental stewards—caring for the planet, their communities, and one another—starting right in their own schoolyards. Through hands-on experiences in growing, harvesting, and understanding nutrition, students gain the knowledge and skills to make healthier choices and build more sustainable futures. Our harvesting and nutrition lessons build confidence in students to try new foods and recipes they can recreate at home, extending the impact beyond the garden and into their daily lives.
